In the Summer of 2007 Vortice asked us to create a series of posters to promote a festival of electronic music called “Campi Magnetici”. The characteristics of these events are to unify the outstanting experimentation of Teatro Fondamenta Nuove with the dance potentials of electronic music (for example arists such as The Soft Pink Truth, Pan Sonic, Alexander Hacke (Einsturzende Neubauten), Coldcut were involved). Here you can read the programme of the festival. On these 70×100 posters we developed the same experimentation we found in their music into typography. Thanks to the precious help of Maurizio Gaddo, Anna Gaddo and Francesco Poloniato, we realized these three dimensional artworks representing the name of the artists and we shot them on a photographic set (here is the set).

The Soft Pink Truth’s poster
TSPT is a project of electronic/club/dance music of Drew Daniel, component of the musical duo Matmos. The experimentation of TSPT is based on a “cut and paste” of different styles, audio samples and synthetic sounds, all ironized by the homosexual mood. That’s why we created four different typographies, through a “cut and paste” of different font-styles. For further information about TSPT check the Drew Daniel’s website.

The Pan Sonic’s poster
The musical duo formed by Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen experiments from the beginning of the 90’s. They remix music of revelant bands as Kraftwerk, Einsturzende Neubauten e Suicide, with modern and advanced techno sounds. Their research, even if difficult because of this strong experimental component, captures a mass audience. Therefore we recreated their name with a serie of geometrical shapes, surreal and basical as the sound of their music is, synthetic and innatural as aseptic and geometric are the waves gerated by their sinths. For further informations check their website.
