In the Summer of 2006 the Municipality of Venice called us to design the communication of a project thought by Young Politics Departement around the world of young movie directors, video artists and video maker. The goal was to inform them of local or international fetivals, competions, formative courses and useful news.
First we designed the logo for Short in Venice: the name, divided with slashes, looks like an internet adress (url). “Short/in Ve/nice” can be adapted into one, two , or either three lines of text,and can fully optimizing avaible spaces. Actually this also represents the idea of fully accessibility that should be shared also by all the Net.

In the same way we designed the layout of the “Short/in Ve/nice” website. We used a system of floating columns, adaptable to every screen resolution, as the logo does. The website also provides different options about colours, font family, size of text to fit the custom’s needs.

To launch the portal we inserted a page-countdown that beats the time untill the virtual activation of the portal. We also created a poster campaign for Venice simply resizing the website window on the browser. This step has been incredibly fast: the disposition of elements on the paper was decided automatically by our virtual layout and the typographic result on posters was great. To celebrate it, a party with the presentation was organized. The “Short/in Ve/nice” website, even if considerably modified during all these years, is on line at www.shortinvenice.net.
